Hamptons Moving Services
What’s different about a Hamptons move
A few things most movers don’t tell you upfront:
- Village restrictions. Several Hampton villages and private associations restrict commercial vehicle hours and access. We confirm rules for your specific address before move day — not after the truck arrives.
- Driveway access. A 26-foot truck doesn’t make it down every gravel drive. We do a satellite check on the destination during the estimate. If a shuttle is needed, you’ll know before booking.
- COIs. Most Hamptons properties are houses, but condo and co-op buildings in Westhampton, Sag Harbor, and Southampton can require a Certificate of Insurance. We issue same-day.
- Permits. Most villages don’t require moving permits, but downtown Sag Harbor and parts of Southampton Village do. We pull them.
Hamptons villages we serve
East Hampton — Strict commercial vehicle hours in the Village center. Main Street and Newtown Lane access is tight in season; we schedule around it. Estate moves on Further Lane, Lily Pond Lane, and Georgica typically require shuttle service from a 26-foot to a smaller truck.
Southampton — Coverage across Southampton Village, North Sea, Tuckahoe, Shinnecock Hills, and Water Mill. Meadow Lane and Gin Lane oceanfront properties often have private association rules we coordinate with the estate manager.
Bridgehampton & Sagaponack — Long driveways are the norm. Hampton Classic week (late August) is the highest-traffic week of the year on Snake Hollow Road and surrounding routes — we route around it.
Sag Harbor — Downtown moving permits required for Main Street, Madison, and Division. Some properties on North Haven require a barge for Shelter Island connections; we handle the booking.
Montauk & Amagansett — The longest run from NYC, so we typically depart Manhattan before 6am to beat Route 27 traffic. Montauk Highway slows significantly east of Amagansett in season.
Westhampton, Westhampton Beach & West Hampton Dunes — Closest Hamptons addresses to NYC (~90 minutes off-peak). Dune Road access has weight and width restrictions for some private bridges; we confirm before dispatch.
Quogue, East Quogue, Hampton Bays, Remsenburg, Speonk, Eastport — Western Hamptons coverage with same-day NYC turnaround available.
Shelter Island, North Haven, Noyac, Springs, Northwest Harbor, Wainscott, Water Mill — All served. Shelter Island moves include ferry coordination from North Haven or Greenport.

Pricing
Most Hamptons moves are quoted flat rate based on inventory and access — not hourly. Hourly billing makes sense on short local Manhattan moves; on a Hamptons move with traffic variables and gravel-drive access questions, it shifts risk to you. Flat rate means the number on the estimate is the number you pay.
For an accurate quote, we need pickup and drop-off addresses, an approximate inventory (room count works for a starting estimate), preferred dates, and any access notes (gate code, long driveway, ferry).
