Since March 2020, Expo Movers has been at the forefront of battling COVID-19 in NYC and the surrounding region. Our team was one of the first to create updated policies and procedures to keep using our essential service while keeping you as safe as possible.
Our COVID-19 page is continuously updated with our best practices in this area to ensure you have a positive moving experience while knowing what to expect.
As part of our adaptation to the changing rules and regulations surrounding COVID-19 in NYC, we’ve updated how we provide estimates and deliver services. Our team can provide a 100% contactless service to ensure you can get out of one location and into another without worrying about potential exposure.
Another way we take care of our community is to place a focus on vaccinated movers. By making sure that we wear masks, get COVID shots, and take care of ourselves, we can better care for your moving needs.
How can we help you today if you’re ready to look at moving options?
What Are the Benefits of the COVID-19 Vaccine?
Vaccines continue to reduce the risk each person faces when exposed to the virus that can cause COVID-19 symptoms. Getting this shot is proven to be highly effective against the development of severe illness.
At Expo Movers, we’re not concerned about the politics of getting a COVID-19 vaccine. You can choose to get one or not. It’s your life, which means it is your business.
We strongly encourage our staff to receive the COVID-19 vaccine because our industry can take us anywhere and everywhere. Our goal is to create as many open doors for you as possible without worrying about the safety and health of your family.
Although you may disagree with the idea of getting vaccinated, we can all agree that we have to protect young children and the most vulnerable people in our community from harm. That’s the primary benefit we see when having vaccinated movers working on your project.
Here are some of the other potential benefits out there when considering the COVID shots and boosters available today.
1. Infection Risks Reduce
Once someone receives their first shot of the COVID-19 vaccine, their body starts producing antibodies that counteract the problematic coronavirus. Those antibodies help the immune system fight the virus when it’s detected.
Three vaccines are currently available in the United States. All require a two-shot does (the Johnson and Johnson COVID shot used to be a one-and-done option), along with potential boosters.
People can still get infected after getting vaccinated, but the symptoms are often less severe. As a result, there is also a significantly lower risk of hospitalization.
2. Stop the Spread
Vaccines can help prevent people from spreading the virus that causes COVID-19 to others. Even when looking at the initial coronavirus and the ongoing variants that develop, the risk of community transmission reduces when more people have been vaccinated.
That’s why vaccinated movers are a must in our industry today. We need to set politics aside and monitor science to prevent more people from becoming sick.
Even when a direct exposure event occurs, getting vaccinated makes it harder for the disease to spread.
3. Meets Local Requirements
NYC has vaccination requirements for various indoor public activities. These rules apply to children 5 to 11 now that the vaccine has been authorized for that age group. Kids of that age must have received at least one dose of a vaccine.
Adults and kids 12 and older must provide full vaccination evidence for indoor dining, fitness, and entertainment settings. In addition, employees working in those settings must be vaccinated.
NYC allows people to bring their vaccination records, show their CDC card, or provide a digital or photocopy of it to provide proof of vaccination. You can also use the CLEAR Health Pass or NYC COVID Safe Apps to provide proof.
Although movers aren’t technically included in those categories as of January 2022, Expo Movers takes your safety seriously. That’s why we focus on providing vaccinated movers on each team. That way, you can rest assured that the help you receive still keeps you safe.
We’re all a little tired of COVID-19. With all the different rules, expectations, and restrictions that keep popping up, the news can feel stressful and exhausting. That’s why each of us needs to create our headlines for the day. When focusing on what you can control, it’s much easier to make it through the day.
